Well there's would and then there's could. Unless they were underaged I wouldn't be concerned. Speaking of celebrity affairs, last night I had a dream that I was having an affair with Ewan McGregor! Ace! Unfortunately, I had horrible guilt over the fact that he was married and had kids. Seriously? Even in my dreams I'm rattled with guilt.

I'm a fan of romance that's a bit dark and doesn't necessarily work out. I prefer that over the happy ending type stuff. Here is the final scene of my favourite movie of all time (tied with Hedwig), Splendor in the Grass. Out of context it makes no sense really but she's just left the mental institution he basically put her in (through his actions). Even though he looks like dirt she was actually the 'poor' one in the relationship and his father was the one who wanted them to be apart. If they ever remake this movie, I'm not responsible for my actions.

<lj-embed id="71" />
For fun, here's a bonus video of the beginning of her breakdown. You see, Bud dumped her because he wanted to have sex. He couldn't have sex with her because he wanted to marry her. So his father convinced him to put her to the side until they had finished school. He took up with the town trollop and poor Deenie lost it.

<lj-embed id="72" />

I actually can't watch this movie very often. Maybe once every couple of years because it haunts me for days.

I'm obsessed with every historical era at one point or another. However, there's always something from that period that worse off than what we have now. I love the music and fashion of the 20s to early 60s but I don't know if I would actually want to live there. I think it'd be hard to come from woman living in 2009 to a woman living in 1939 where you have little to no say in your own life. I mean, I'd want the hairstyle and the makeup but beyond that who knows?

I'm currently obsessed with turn of the century France. However, I'd only like to stay there if like Gigi I meet my own Gaston.

My obsession with this movie is becoming a concern. I actually want to make petit fours just so I can watch this movie and eat petit fours. That's not right. I also am liking the sound of a having a daughter named Gigi. That's just plan ridiculous (no offense to all the Gigis out there).

p.s. MJ's 'This is It' is amazing! I expected nothing less.
I think there's a big difference between astrology and horoscopes. I'm a Cancer to a tee. However, there are more things at play than just a star sign. If an astrologist spent a day creating my chart and then used that info to create a daily horoscope I might give it some credit. Other than that, it's like the comics to me.

I'm the oldest and I definitely think it makes an impact on my personality. I'm far more responsible and independent than my younger brother. I'm also not very argumentative. I don't know if that's an oldest trait or not but I think it's because I usually assume I'm at fault. They say your parents are more strict with the oldest child because they have more time to dedicate to your discipline and that was definitely the case with me.

It was so obvious that when my brother would do something bad it was my fault because I was older and I should have stopped him. Seriously, even when I wasn't there or when I wasn't involved. I was even brought to the principal's office on occasion because 'I told him he could...' whatever he was in trouble for doing. Brat.

I was definitely more mature than my brother. I was left alone by the age of 10 and I was in charge of making supper so it'd be ready by the time my parents were home from work. I did so most nights until I started babysitting at 13. It seemed normal to me but looking back it's odd. I was 10 and making Orange Glazed Pork Chops! They were so good.

I have the most amazing boss. She's been championing me and my efforts for years. She looks out for me on things I don't even think of (benefits, vacation time, etc.). She is also very liberal with her information and doesn't have a problem getting me to take care of things or learning things. I think that's a rarity because it seems people are really possessive about their work and don't want someone to 'take over'.

I'm very lucky that way.

I don't really spend on anything that's easily cut. I don't smoke or drink a lot. The hardest thing is to give up Starbucks because that's my vice. Although, if you get a London Fog with a shot of vanilla in a travel mug it's less than $3. I have my own cappuccino maker and a bunch of syrups but it's not the same.

Travel mugs save you $.10 a cup though so that's a good tip! So if you're like me and go about 20 times a month or so you'll get a free latte in two months. Besides, paper cups are so bad for the environment.

It's impossible to pick just one. I have so many memories related to his music. I remember walking around singing Beat It and my neighbour asked me to replace the word 'funky' with something that didn't offend her like 'banana'. I tried it to be polite, said no and continued on my way. I was only four. lol. I made up dance routines to my Bad tape in the front yard and I went roller skating as a special treat because I was a patrol and got really excited when 'Remember the Time' came on. lol.

He was just such an enormous part of my childhood and I was still a die hard buying History and Number Ones even though I had all the other albums. I could never have predicted how shocked I still feel over 12 hours later. I always believed in him and I was so hoping that the London dates were just the beginning of an amazing comeback. It seems so tragic that he's going out like this. I am terrified of what we're going to learn in the coming weeks. I'm bracing myself for it.

I often find silence distracting so I always have to have music on. However, I once wrote a 30+ page research paper for Environmental Science on Oil usage in one day. I didn't want to listen to anything I like because I had put it off until the last day. I went through my parents' meager cd collection and pulled out The Best of Jim Croce. I knew one or two songs on it so I figured it wouldn't be too bad.

I listened to it on repeat for 10 hours. In that 10 hours I became a major Jim Croce fan, suprisingly as you'd think it'd have the opposite effect. However, if I hear more than one of his songs in a row I get a little tense. lol.

My favourite song of his is Operator:

<lj-embed id="62" />

Oh and for the paper?

I think all decades suck for one reason or another. Although there is a bit of glamour for me with the late 50s early 60s bobby soxer era.

ha! It's poutine. I just got some. I'm still upset that I had no problem getting it in the Rocky Mountains and yet it's so hard to find in our French Quarter. Lame.
